Function
Pallas, named after the Greek goddess of wisdom, represents our ability to conceptualize and create. She is the intelligence we’re born with as well as the intelligence we gain through experience. Pallas has a knack for bringing order out of chaos. She encourages us to think in a new way and see things from an unusual perspective. With Pallas, there’s an innate sense of style, grace and poise.
The Greeks named the asteroid Pallas and sometimes called it Athena
You may have heard the asteroid Pallas written as Pallas Athena, and it is the same entity. The Greeks named the asteroid after the goddess Pallas, who was also known by her Greek name of Athena.
Athena was a goddess of war, but she’s best known for her wisdom and intelligence. She’s often depicted with an owl in hand or perched on her shoulder, emphasizing her connection to knowledge. Athena is also significant because she sprang fully-formed out of Zeus’ head. This made her father proud enough to give up his plans to marry off his daughter, instead making her a virgin goddess at his side.
A warrior, Athena leads the fight for the right cause
As an asteroid goddess, Pallas Athena represents our capacity to think, plan and strategize. She is a wise warrior who defends the right cause with intellect and courage. Like her mythological counterpart, Athena (the Greek Goddess of Wisdom and War), Pallas wields a shield as she fights for justice using her mind as well as her sword.

Harmony, balance and peace are essential to her cause
Harmony, balance and peace are essential to her cause. Pallas is the intellectual, who uses her mind to help others. She has a strong sense of compassion and is willing to fight for the right cause.
She is the warrior of peace. She loves art and music, as they create an environment that promotes healing and hope. Wisdom is always a key element in her agenda.
Pallas’ skills of strategy, negotiation and tactical thinking enable her to find solutions to problems that have eluded others
The minor planet Pallas was the second one ever discovered and named after the goddess of wisdom. She is often depicted as a warrior, since Athena, who she is probably also similar to, was also a warrior. Pallas’ strategic thinking will help you think things through before you act on them and her negotiation skills will help you get what you want. Not only that but if there are problems in your life that need solving, she’ll be able to find solutions to them with ease.
Wisdom and intelligence are attributes of Pallas, allowing her to see not only what is, but why it is that way and where it could lead
Astrology is the study of how each planet affects us as we make decisions. It is also a way to see the bigger picture and understand why certain things are the way they are. One of Pallas’s attributes is wisdom and intelligence, allowing her to see not only what is, but why it is that way and where it could lead. This allows her not only to comprehend tough situations—but also helps her understand motivations and consequences
With a wise mind, you can figure out better solutions for your problems without letting them get you down!
Traits from Pallas are more often seen in women who have a strong inner masculine energy
While having a Pallas Athena signature doesn’t necessarily mean that you are a military leader or corporate officer, you might find yourself called to these positions. Even if you do not actively seek out these kinds of jobs, your skills in strategy and negotiation will serve you well in any path you choose. In the workplace, it’s important to take the time to learn how others see the world around them. By seeking out those with different views than your own, and by learning how they reach their conclusions, you can come up with new solutions to old problems. A trick that I use is getting people to teach me how they think about a problem. By asking questions like “How does this work?” or “Why does this happen?”, I learn about other ways of thinking and am able to expand my understanding of what is possible.
The woman soldier or policewoman, cabinet member or executive are examples of this archetype
You have a strong inner masculine energy and love to initiate, organize, strategize and take action. You may be a woman soldier or policewoman, cabinet member or executive. You are not afraid of taking the lead and being in charge.
You can sometimes come across as too aggressive and competitive which people interpret as intimidating. Remember to balance your warrior energy with that of the goddess archetype which is nurturing and compassionate.
No passive or gentle energy
She was not, in the end, a very gentle person. In her own peculiar way she was also not passive. She had a strong inner masculine energy that spoke out of her—sometimes aggressively—and she had a habit of saying things like “You’ll regret this” and “This is wrong”—as if other people could hear her. But all of these qualities combined did not make her bossy or difficult to get along with because she always knew what to say in any situation, even if it wasn’t the right thing to say at that moment.
If you have Pallas closely placed in your birth chart you may exhibit these traits
- You may also be radically outspoken and courageous, with a natural talent for leadership. If this is the case, it may be helpful to remember that people will only listen to you as a leader if you are able to defend your opinions and ideas in a forceful but non-confrontational manner.
- Remember the importance of balancing feminine and masculine energies in yourself. Pallas is a great teacher of the goddess energy that lies within all of us, but she can also show us how to use our power effectively without becoming overly domineering or aggressive. It’s important for women as well as men to balance their softness with their strength so they can lead others while also maintaining compassion and consideration.
Every character flaw is also an opportunity
Your flaws are a gift.
Everyone has them. They are part of the human condition, and they can be a major source of self-criticism and self-defeat if you’re not careful. But every flaw is also an opportunity for greater understanding and higher levels of self expression….
